My Purse's Turn

Here's what's inside my current favorite bag (yes, also from awesome Greenhills, hehe):
My daily planner and pen; my trusty phone (which also serves as a music player); body spray from Mari (in my fave scent); wallet and my cutie Elmer coin purse; house keys with personalized tag from Teacher Maj; candy; my leisure read from the SSC library; and my vanity kit which includes lip balm, gloss, compact powder and a comb, among others. :)
This is what i carry around on a day-to-daybasis since i became an intern. I would most definitely need to have my "medical weapons"-- stethoscope (which we also call as the statuscope) and BP app. My cellphone ofcourse is a necessity to be able to contact and be contacted by everyone and anyone. A carabiner which, if it could, would be used to carry everything from micropore tape to bandage scissors to a stapler.Everything else are practical stuff like umbrella, house keys and money. Sometimes i would carry around my "security blanket"-- a small medical book.

This is what's keeping me busy these days.

Inside My Purse--Edition 1

I put edition one on there because I think there may be more of this :)

So you wanna get in my purse? Like this one?

Yup, straight from Green Hills. The Prada tag came off (see the holes?), and I like it that way.

And the contents:

My big camera, which I now bring with me everywhere. Hand sanitizer, my coin purse (from Tagaytay, when we went to get Starbucks), 2 Burt's Bees lip gloss things, Victoria's Secret lip gloss, my new-ish blue wallet from a thrift store, Trident pina colada gum, 5 pink gum, Genteal eye drops (allergy season, here we come!), a hook thing for hanging purses off your table (bar, restaurants), my old foldy wallet thing, and my sunglass case (with my "Ray-Bans" inside). And that's it!

Fork

I was shopping for a present for a friend last night, and happened upon this.

It reminded me of you girls, and the fun we had in Tagaytay.
I am incredulous that that was over a month ago.

Get Inside My Purse! (What's in yours?)

I just got home from work, and I suddenly had this random idea of emptying out my purse and showing you what's inside.

So here's what I've got:
Two drug-company sponsored notebooks - for writing down shit and whatnot
Medicine Blue Book - the must-have book of moonlighters!
Twisted 8 1/2 by Jessica Zafra - Gena and Kim, remember how we used to read lots of Zafra when we were in College? Memories. :)
The Little Prince
My house keys
Petroleum Jelly - my lip balm of choice. Really, it's the best! It doesn't leave any residue when it dries out
A hair brush
Two black pens
Hello Kitty Pocket Tissues
- I told you, I love cats!
Black Oc-Oc Notes - you'll never know when a patient suddenly challenges you with an Oral Revalida!
My trusty iPhone
Brown Wallet

That's it! You've been inside my purse! Now show me what's inside yours!

Spring is in the air

I am soooooo loving this weather. Today it's in the high 60's-low 70's, and there's just the perfect breeze. I have been procrastinating all morning to run, but I will, right after this post!

So yesterday, I only took 2 sets of pictures. Shame on me.

The first, of these wildflowers in my neighborhood. I had to ask my friend, Rita, who was driving, to pull over on the side of a busy road so I can take these pictures. I couldn't quite do it myself when I'm driving by myself, so she was gracious enough to give in.

And we did go to the thrift store, but I didn't get to take photos. I did score some old book from the 60's or so, and one of these days, I will photograph my treasures. I also got a bunch of glass pitchers and bottles for my ongoing limoncello project, and for a summer party I'm hoping to throw this year (since I usually only do a winter holiday party, this should be exciting!).

After the thrift store, we decided to get some sushi. Yum. And, sushi-eating is not complete without sake-drinking. I know you girls do not like sake, but one day, I hope you share this with me again!

Yum.

Then I just spent the evening with Joe, and watched the movie Taken at home.

Today, I get to see a long-lost friend (well, if you consider 7 months long). I cannot wait to see her.

P.S. My pictures are huge because when I post them, I click "X-large" on the box that shows up. That way, you can really see what I'm posting! I like it better that way :)

Hello Kitty

Okay, so y'all know that I'm such a massive cat fan, yes? I've always wanted to have a kitty since I was 5, but my parents never got me one because my bro was asthmatic, and they were afraid all the animal dander could trigger attacks. So, anyway, I'm finally able to own a cat just recently. Last October, Ate Kaye Panganiban introduced me to her very good friend Kate who is a huge cat lover as well. Kate gave me one of her beautiful persian kittens, which Christian and I fondly named "Maps", after our favorite song by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

So, yeah, I love cats. :) And here's some kitty pics to cute-ify your day.

Okay, so the last picture is obviously a dog. The picture's just too cute to pass up. Happy Sunday, everyone!

Outwardly, a great week.

Kaye, I think it's so awesome that you're so caught up with American Idol all the way over there, while I have yet to see a whole episode! Aahh!! Shame on me! I promise I will watch it this week and vote for your girl :)

This past week has been pretty weird for me, but it's turning around this weekend.

Last weekend I went to my sister, Renee's 9th birthday party, and made thse yummy Oreo cupcakes:

Happy 9th Birthday, Renee!

Make a wish!

That evening, I saw my godson, Jeriah. What a cutie. His mom and I are already scheming that my daughter (the one that's yet to be conceived!) and him are going to fall in love, and make beautiful babies together.

Then during the week, we went out to happy hour for one of my good friend's birthday.

We went to this place called The Mix (where we can go, Kaye, when you come visit me!)

The banana split. Yum.

Make a wish!

Enjoying the company of friends

Right now, the sun is out, and I am so excited to go enjoy the warmth of it on my skin. I'm also going to one of my favorite thrift stores a little later, and that always makes me feel better (retail therapy does wonders!). And why do I love this thrift store so much?

Because of this:

Isn't it delightful? I can just smell the pages. I love the smell of old book pages.

See you guys tomorrow!

American Idol season 9

I am such an American Idol fan, and this year, since I have all the time in the world, I've been so up-to-date with all the happenings in the show. This week, they narrowed down the pool to 12 contestants (6 boys and 6 girls), and I am just so terribly heartbroken that Alex Lambert and Lilly Scott had to go

I thought Lilly did such a fantastic job since the beginning of the live shows, and I am just taken by surprise that she was actually voted off! I couldn't understand it! She reaped nothing but the best reviews from the judges. She's so contemporary, so cool, and she knew what kind of artist she truly is. Argh. So sad...

And then there's this Tim Urban guy:Ugh! I can't believe he's actually gone this far! He wasn't originally a part of the top 24 in the first place (there was some controversy that went on with the original choice, Chris Golightly, so he had to be replaced), and Simon already expressed his regret about picking Tim as the wildcard contestant. Okay, sure, so Tim Urban can sing, but he's not that great. He's somewhat mediocre. It's just so sad that he's got a spot in the top 12, when clearly, other people deserve it more than he does. Have you guys even heard of his rendition of One Republic's which he did in the first round of the live shows? It was soooo horrendously awful! "Karaoke night" isn't even enough to describe it. And it's just so annoying for me, because Apologize one of my most favorite songs in the world. So damn you, Tim Urban, for ruining such a great song.

I hope Tim Urban gets voted off next week. He really has to go, people. The other 11 contestants out there are just waaaay more talented than him. C'mon, America, enough with the pity votes already! Tim Urban is not even remotely cute! That said, I can't wait for next week's performances.

Andrew Garcia, Didi Benami and Crystal Bowersox are my favorites. I hope they nail it next week.

Good Morning, March 10!

It's such a beautiful Wednesday morning! I'm off to the gym now, but before I head out, I catch my beautiful persian cat, Maps, pensively looking out the window. I thought it just made such a pretty picture:

Just starting out..

Hello there!

Ok I think we need to just post random things at random times to get used to this. And I think we should just use this for now and leave Tumblr alone, at least for the moment. I think we should just try one blog and get the hang of it first! We should just combine this as a thought/photo blog--post a photo that represents your day (that you take, but it's ok if you didn't take it) and then talk about it if you'd like, or just leave a quick description.

I myself have not been taking pictures everyday, as I haven't been too inspired. I'm at work right now, and I don't have too many pictures, but this is one I took of my lovely, purple shoes! :) Love them, and I'm wearing them today. I have this new app on my phone called Hipstamatic, and it makes photos look old. And, the picture is small! I'll post a better one later.

My First Post!

Hi guys! So this is my first post in this super-fab blog! Hehe. I'm posting this really funny picture; I didn't take the pic myself, but it just totally made my day today, so I'm sharing it with you guys. Haha! I remember how my dad used to say "hamburjer", but those days are long gone after I've gotten so annoyed and corrected him.
